The bog
is filled with a marvelous array of intricate plants, each well adapted to its
particular place in the bog structure. Because the boardwalk wends its way
through a variety of elevations and water conditions, what flourishes in one
spot may not even survive in another. Visitors are encouraged to spend time at
each station, examining the bog closely. It can help to kneel on the boardwalk
and peer down over the side, and to bring binoculars that will bring delicate
bog orchids and carnivorous sundews and pitcher plants into clear view.
