The Rolland F. Perry City Forest (Bangor City Forest) encompasses approximately 650 acres, with 4.6 miles of access roads, and 9.2 miles of  walking and x-country skiing trails. Wildlife habitat, streams and wetlands are also shown. Dogs on leash are permitted on most of the Forest trails. With the exception of service animals, dogs are not permitted on the boardwalk, however.

To reach the Forest, drive north from the Bangor Mall on Stillwater Avenue, and turn in at Tripp Drive.

This is a "working forest" and the roads are primarily for use by foresters. The trails are open to the public.

The Orono Bog Boardwalk is reached via the East Trail shown on the map. See the detailed map of the boardwalk. The boardwalk is closed December through May for your safety in ice and snow conditions, and because the boardwalk can be damaged by ski poles, snowshoes, etc.
